CMD Employees Give Back Through Volunteering and Donations
(APPLETON, WI – November 30, 2021) –CMD, a local original equipment manufacturer (OEM) kicks off their Holiday Give Back Program in alignment with the global initiative, Giving Tuesday.
“As we approach the Holiday season, it is the time of the year to reflect and contribute to those that are less fortunate. This year, CMD will include weekly collections for area charities. To emphasize our commitment to charitable giving, we are pleased to align with the worldwide movement, Giving Tuesday,” says CMD President, Ricardo Abud.
Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is a global network that collaborates to encourage charitable acts and kindness year-round. The last Tuesday of November is marked as the official “Giving Tuesday”, and businesses, individuals and organizations around the world come together to launch giving programs, perform acts of generosity, and volunteer on that day.
Volunteering
As in previous years, CMD will sponsor employee volunteer opportunities to benefit charities during the
end-of-the-year holidays, including Feeding America and Salvation Army Bell Ringers and Toys for Tots assistants.
The Holiday Give-Back Program encourages employees to volunteer during paid work hours. CMD is part of a growing number of companies who pay an employee’s regular wage for volunteering in company-approved charitable causes.
Between November 30 and December 24, CMD employees can receive up to four hours regular pay, equal to their time volunteering.
Donations
In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, CMD will also organize a collection drive to benefit local charities on each of 4 consecutive Tuesdays starting with November 30. The charities were selected to benefit local citizens and organizations: Toys for Tots; Vets and Friends; local shelters and local food pantries.
Employees can bring their donations to work with them where several collection bins will be available. The public is encouraged to donate and can drop off their donations at 3005 E. Pershing Street, Appleton, WI.
The firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility program focuses on community outreach and environmental improvement and sustainability while promoting, team building and engagement.
CMD designs and manufactures high-performance converting and natural gas compression equipment from its technology development and manufacturing campus located in Appleton. All equipment is manufactured locally by the firm’s 200+ employees. CMD is a significant exporter of Wisconsin-made products, earning the Governor’s Export Achievement Award in 2016.
