We spoke with Bruno Massaria – Director of International Sales for Europe and Mexico, about what to look for in the CMD booth.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and your experience.

A: I have been involved with the flexible packaging industry for 15 years, including in South America and Mexico, and I speak Spanish. I have a technical background, both with mechanical and electrical.  My focus within our industry has been in pouch and bag converting equipment for bottom seal & side seal trash bags, stand up pouches and side-gusseted bags.

Q: What is the value of the Plastimagen venue for CMD and its customers?

A: Plastimagen is a recognized, and well-attended show which allows CMD to demonstrate high-performance converting equipment and meet with customers from Mexico and Latin America who visit the show.  Customers can visit the show and see the products of many companies from around the world.

Q:  What will CMD exhibit?

A: CMD will offer live demonstrations of the 864GBW Global Bag Machine and Winder.  It is a compact, all-in-one system that converts bottom seal bags on rolls at speeds of up to 138 meters per minute. It can run line with an extruder, or from parent rolls of film. It allows the possibility of manufacturing side-seal bags and offers the options of labeling/banding and end-of-roll control through a glue system.  

Q: What benefits does the machine you are exhibiting offer customers in the Latin American countries, including Mexico?

A: It is the smallest and most compact machine in the CMD product lineup.  It is a simple, all-in-one system which includes the bag machine and bag winder.  It is designed with an infeed dancer for running in line with an extruder. CMD also offers simple unwinds for out-of-line configuration.  It is designed for easy operation, yet provides the robust, reliable continuous-motion sealing CMD is known for.  Technical service and spare parts are quickly offered from the U.S. by qualified CMD technicians.

In addition to viewing the live demonstrations of the CMD 864GBW, visitors can consult with CMD specialists regarding the full range of solutions available, including high performance equipment for drawtape bags, embossed bags and die cut bags; as well as a full array of pouch making machinery for medical, ecommerce and custom pouches.

Q:   What is CMD offering from its booth?

A:  Along with live equipment demonstrations, CMD will give away free product samples of trash bags on rolls, converted from sustainable film provided by Ternova Packaging.
